Scholarship Program

The Academy offers scholarships to deserving candidates. The scholarship covers the course fees.

Award
  • Each scholarship will cover the course fees and will be tenable for the normal duration of the program
Eligibility
  • Scholarships are available to all students who are residents of any state in India.
  • The applicant needs to have received a firm offer from the Academy and has already accepted the offer or intending to do so.
Criteria
  • The scholarship will be granted on the basis of academic merit and financial need. The applicant who has received a firm offer and desirous of a scholarship needs to apply at scholarship@oawa.in with all the past academic records and any other document they feel which justify the application. The scholarship committee will screen all applicants basis the information available.
Funding
  • OAWA Academy has a provision to provide full or partial scholarships to its students.
Mr. Sujoy Das Co-Founder

Former Head-Fixed Income at Invesco Asset management. Over 25 years of experience in Fixed- Income and currency markets. Managed funds for both domes­tic and offshore funds. In 2005 and 2012, was featured amongst the top debt fund managers in the country in a survey conducted by Business Today and Mutualfundsindia.com

Mr. Saibal Mukherjee Co-Founder

Nominated Director of IAG, Switzerland and an award-winning legal and compliance professional. Worked in the space of legal & compliance in companies like Bharti Airtel, P&G, Novartis, Stryker, and Takeda in India and Switzerland. He is a graduate in English literature and law from the University of Delhi and a Masters of International Law from the University of Cumbria, UK.

Mr. Vikram Sengupta Co-Founder

He is a Master’s degree holder in Economics & MBA from IIM Calcutta. Associated with the Indian cap­ital market for more than 18 years with investment banks like Lehman Brothers, Nomura & presently runs his own Wealth Management company.

Prof Binay Bhushan Chakrabarti

Prof Binay Bhushan Chakrabarti is a former Professor of Finance at IIM Calcutta and ex- Director-in-charge of IIM Ranchi. He has worked as a member of the RBI’s committee on Financial Benchmarks and the Advisory Committee of the Risk Management Institute of the National University of Singapore. He is a Mechanical Engineer from Jadavpur University, Calcutta (Gold medallist), PGDM from IIM Calcutta (Gold medallist), Cost Accountant from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, and Ph. D in Economics from Jadavpur University, Calcutta. He has worked in the industry for 24 years, primarily in the manufacturing and financial services sector in GKW, Metal Box, Nagarjuna Group, Keventer, and NICCO-UCO as President, General Manager.

Apart from teaching at IIM Calcutta, he has been a visiting professor at IIM Ahmedabad and other IIMs, including CFVG, Vietnam, ESCP Paris, National University of Singapore, Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Reims Business School, Bordeaux Business School, and ESC Toulouse in France. He has published more than forty research papers in international and domestic journals.

Dr. Debashis Sanyal

Dr. Debashis Sanyal is currently the Director at Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon. With over 35 years of rich experience in top business schools, Dr. Sanyal has received numerous honors for teaching. He has a Master’s degree from Calcutta University and holds a Doctoral degree in Commerce. He is a merit holder from the Institute of Cost and Works Accountant of India (ICWAI), where he also served as Joint Director. Before joining Great Lakes, Gurgaon, he was Vice Provost-Management and Dean of School of Business Management at NMIMS for around eight years. Before his stint at NMIMS, Dr. Sanyal was Dean at Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon, and headed the EMBA program at S.P. Jain Centre of Management, Singapore.

Dr. Kavita Sharma

Dr. Kavita Sharma recently retired as the president of South Asian University, New Delhi, India, in 2020. Before this, she was a professor at Hindu College, Delhi University, for 37 years (1971-2008), during which she also served as principal for ten years. Kavita then served as the Director of India International Centre, New Delhi, from 2008 to 2014. She is a life member of several prestigious associations and institutes, including the Indian Association of Canadian Studies, Indian Law Institute, Association of Comparative Literature, and Indian History Congress.

Mr. Anup Dubey Course Director

A passionate educationist with over 17 years of experience. Co-founder of Gurukul.education and LIFE Foundation. Have been contributing towards increasing accessibility and quality of education in the formal university system, private institutions and NGOs. Has authored five books covering Statistics, Management, Entrepreneurship, Business Communication and Ethics. Anup has a diverse work-ex stretching from as an analyst with JP Morgan Chase and the founder of restaurant Ola-Guaca’s, a Lebanese Falafel QSR. Have been recognised on multiple occasions for his innovative ways on many platforms and news articles.
